Charity Plan

In 2008, there was a horrible earthquake in Wenchuan, China. That year, I was only 1 year old. My grandma and mum hugged me to donate the money to the local charity organizations. My mum even sang songs to the local people to arouse them donate money as well. I don’t know many things at that time, but I guess mum had sown the seeds of love in my deep heart at that moment.
In 2012, I was 5 years old. I went to Huadu with my kindergarten buddies to donate the toys and books to the poor children there. I saw their smiling faces when I gave them things to play. And I felt extremely happy at that moment.
In 2013, I was 6 years old. I joined “City newsboy” activities many times. I sold newspapers to the street strangers and earned some money. Finally, I donated the money to the poor people. Selling newspaper was not that easy, the weather was hot, the people always rejected you, I even wanted to quit, but mum always encouraged me to try more times, never give it up. At last, I got the certificate and money that earned by myself, I realized that how hard it is to earn money. I need to cherish every penny, I told myself.
In my daily school life, I always tried my best to help my classmates when they are in need. Once on my way back home, I helped a little girl to find her mother. I still remember how happy when the little girl saw her mother. Whenever I helped people, they were happy, and I felt happy too!
Helping people makes me so proud of myself. I think I can do much volunteer work for the mountainous area students. For example, I can bring some toys, school supplies, books and clothing to the needy children. Mum said donating time can be as powerful and good as donating money and things as well. I think I can donate some time to be with them during summer or winter vacation! What’s more, I have another good idea. I’m very good at playing drum. If it’s possible, I can do some volunteer street performance. If I get some money from the passengers, then I can donate them to the needy children.
As for the volunteer teaching part, I feel very confident because I just got the 1st prize of the “Little teacher match”in my Chinese class. And also, my mum is a teacher, she can give me a lot of suggestions about the teaching. I’d like to choose the animal topic, because that topic is children’s favorite. Here is my teaching plan.

A Chinese proverb says that “Give others roses, your hand has the fragrance.” (赠人玫瑰,手有余香). I totally believe that if we do volunteer work or charitable activities, we can gain a lot from it, such as friendship, love, self confidence, self-esteem etc. Although we are young, we can still do something to change someone's life. We actually have the power to create a better world.
