My Winter Vacation

During the winter holiday, I was so happy because I got a lot of lucky money from my dear grandpa and grandma. They were very happy because I got outstanding merits of KET this vacation.

In this spring festival I travelled with my parents to Zhuhai Chimelong Park instead of going back hometown. When I heard the news that I could not go back to hometown, I felt so sad because I could not play with my cousin. But my mom told me we’d better stay at home during the winter vacation because of the COVID-19 virus. I really hated the awful and terrible virus and hoped it could disappear as soon as possible.

So except traveling to Zhuhai Chimelong, I had to spend a lot time staying at home. I have read a lot of interesting books: some comics, some fictions and non-fictions. And the most impressive books are My Weird School written by Dan Gutman. It wasn’t just one book. There were a series of comedy books. Luckily, I had enough time to enjoy the amazing collections.  

My Weird School series are about some friends’ adventures happened at school. At Ella Mentry School, all the grownups were quite weird in their own weird ways. The main characters were AJ and his arch-enemy Andrea Young. AJ didn’t like school at all but Andrea loved school and everything AJ hated. Andrea still has a mad scientist called Orson. He found a way to live forever and he needed to make sure everyone in the school was safe. At first, AJ and his friend didn’t trust Orson, but after experiencing lots of adventures with him, they started to believe him. Finally, AJ and Orson became close friends and AJ found he loved the school very much.

That was my winter vacation. I didn’t go back to my hometown as usual but I had a wonderful trip with my parents, and especially I read a lot of interesting books. I had a lot of fun!
